6th Daytime Beauty Awards Highlights

The 6th annual Daytime Beauty Awards (DBAs), founded by CEO Michele Elyzabeth took place on Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Autry Museum of the American West. The DBAs celebrate science behind beauty, health and wellness, spotlighting professionals in the fields of medicine, health and fitness, aesthetics, skincare, color and styling, CBD & cannabis, beauty innovation and more.

Honorees, celebrity presenters and  VIP guests arrived in Western chic attire with cowboy hats, boots and bolo ties as the DBAs ceremony benefitted and raised awareness for Return To Freedom Wild Horse Conservation (RTF). After walking the green carpet, guests posed with luxury vehicles from O’Gara Coach, including an electric Bentley, McLaren Speedtail, as well as the first electric Rolls Royce Spectre, which was on display next to a 19th century horse-drawn stagecoach to showcase the evolution of transportation.

2024 Ambassador and Emmy winning hairstylist Kiyah Wright opened the show with 2025 Hollywood Beauty Awards Ambassador, Adir Abergel. 

Ed Harris, Wendie Malick and Robert Knott, who are longtime supporters of RTF, took the stage to pay special tribute to RTF’s founder Neda DeMayo. RTF is home to hundreds of rescued burros and wild horses, including Spirit the Kiger mustang who inspired the Dreamworks' films. 

From the honoree speeches to the presenter’s remarks, the theme of celebrating science behind beauty and beauty within was very much present. Suzanne Nora Johnson (Chair of the USC Board of Trustees) presenting Outstanding Achievement in Color & Styling to Kadi Lee. Suzanne was Kadi’s very first client when she became a hair colorist. 

Holly Robinson Peete celebrated her longtime friend Chaz Dean, who was honored with The Inventor’s Award for the creation of his WEN Brush Dryer Styling Tool. 

Marcia Cross presented Outstanding Achievement in Health & Fitness to Diana Nyad and Bonnie Stoll. Cross has known the two athletes for decades. Just last year, Diana’s renowned Cuba to Florida swim was adapted into the hit Netflix film NYAD, for which Annette Bening and Jodie Foster received Academy Award nominations for their portrayal of Diana and Bonnie. 

Jay Leno worked some jokes with the audience before presenting Outstanding Achievement in Medicine to Dr. Peter H. Grossman who helped to heal his burns in 2022. 

Golden Globe nominee Penelope Ann Miller celebrated women’s health pioneer Dr. Kellyann, who received The Breakthrough Award for Dr. Kellyann &ME Peri + Menopause. Bravo’s “The Valley” star Brittany Cartwright accepted Outstanding Achievement in Aesthetics on behalf of Dr. Aaron Rollins, the creator of AirSculpt, while actress Rebecca Rittenhouse presented to friend Hillary Peterson who founded True Botanicals. Hillary was honored with Outstanding Achievement in Skincare. 

The grand finale was 4x NBA Champion John Salley receiving The Zen Award from Shawn Credle (Pineapple Express) for his wellness, CBD & cannabis activism. 

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed an authentic Western BBQ luncheon from Harry’s BBQ Express and Vegan desserts from Chef Romuald Guiot. 

WEN by Chaz Dean will serve as the title sponsor and O’Gara Coach as a supporting sponsor. 

The Autry is located in Griffith Park on the traditional lands of the Gabrielino/Tongva peoples. The museum’s collection of more than 600,000 pieces of art and cultural objects includes one of the largest and most significant of Native American materials in the United States.
